Author Guidelines

The IjSSr invites multiple format critical reviews of research articles and books focusing on social studies education for children, adolescents, youth and adults. Conventional written review articles should be no more that 1500 words in length, and multimedia files such as video and slideshows will have to be hosted offsite and urls and embed code forwarded to the journal with a short 50-100 word abstract. Please contact Nick Stanger if you have any questions regarding multimedia hosting.

Submissions to IjSSr should be critical reviews of research surrounding topics of Social Studies education including articles and books exploring practice and theory.  Authors are encouraged to make clear and convincing arguments based on evidence and example in support or in opposition to the ideas and practices advocated in the article or book being reviewed.

To submit to IjSSr you must send your submissions files (where appropriate in APA 6th format) through the website. If you have difficulty submitting your file please contact Nick Stanger through email with your title, description of the work and attached files.

Similar to more traditional journals, your submissions will be double blind reviewed by peers, and approved by the Editorial board, where appropriate edits, changes and additions will be suggested before publication approval.

Submissions will be considered on an ongoing basis (rolling deadline), and special issues will be announced in advance.

Submissions. The IjSSr is a double blind peer reviewed journal. All submissions  must be made to the journal website, where they will be sent out for two anonymous blind reviews before being considered by the Editorial Board for publication. All submissions must be completed anonymously
