Transboundary Cooperation in Switzerland: Training for Europe

Abstract

Since Switzerland is not a member of the European Union (EU), it very rarely appears in official EU documents or on EU maps. From this perspective, it is almost terra incognita. This paper explores the evolution of Switzerland's political-institutional characteristics, foreign policies, and regionalist movements in particular. Portraits of the Swiss border regions are also presented.
