Édith-Anne Pageot
Édith-Anne Pageot currently teaches at the University of Ottawa. She received her doctoral degree in Art History (2004) from the University of Montreal for her work on the notions of self, identity and gender, as well as the infiltration of psychoanalysis in Canadian art. Specializing in modern and contemporary Canadian art, she has numerous publications and has presented her work in various international congresses. She has acted as guest curator for a number of museums and sits on a number funding committees, including programs for Quebec’s Ministry of Culture, Communications and the Status of Women. She is contributing author to the forthcoming book State-Nation-Identity in Cultural Discourses of Canada. As well, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, a book concerning the contribution to Canadian art by Mexican native born artist Domingo Cisneros is in preparation.
