Ryan Whyte is Faculty Lecturer in the Department of Art History & Communication Studies, McGill University, and in Fall 2011 will be Assistant Professor at OCAD University, Faculty of Liberal Studies. He is writing a book on the role of printed matter in the Salon du Louvre exhibitions of the Ancien Régime. His other recent work addresses materiality, temporality and cross-cultural exchange in eighteenth-century print culture. He has also written art criticism for such journals as Parachute, C Magazine, Artext, and Border Crossings.
