Focus and Scope
The Satir Journal of Counselling and Family Therapy offers research and applications for the mental health of individual, and promotes the healthy development of families, groups and organizations in society. Our goals encompass therapeutic communication, equality, spirituality, ethical decision-making and global diversity.
Our sponsor is the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria, in British Columbia, Canada. We appreciate the generosity to be located on the Coast Salish territory, where Virginia Satir offered graduate workshops at the “Haven,” on nearby Gabriola Island.

SATIR is committed to disseminating scholarly work as quickly as possible while maintaining high publication standards. The journal will be adopting a continous publication model (one volume per year) and maintaning quick turnaround times.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
