Portage Park Restoration Project Management Plan, 2015

Abstract

In 2012 Amanda Evans prepared a restoration plan for View Royal: Ecological Restoration Plan for Portage Park: Recommendations for Restoration and Community Engagement. The vision of the project, which had support from the Town of View Royal, was to restore Portage.
The 2015 Management Plan will build upon Amanda Evans’ 2012 Restoration Plan for View Royal: Ecological Restoration Plan for Portage Park: Recommendations for Restoration and Community Engagement. The goals and objectives laid out in the 2012 plan will be compared to current conditions in Portage Park to determine which targets have been met and whether the work has proceeded according to schedule. An updated set of restoration objectives and targets will be outlined in this document. The objects and targets will be selected in two ways. Targets from the 2012 plan that is currently unmet will be reassessed against current site conditions to determine if they have continued importance. Second, issues arising from current conditions will be addressed by incorporating new targets and objectives into the Management Plan. The 5 Priority areas will be reviewed to determine if the priority areas for 2015 should be the same or different. Priority areas for 2015 will be designated.
