About the Journal

About 

Guillemets is an undergraduate, peer-reviewed journal featuring the creative and academic work of UVic students who have demonstrated an exceptional analysis of a variety of topics from the Francophone world, such as literature and poetry, film, linguistics, and theatre. Please read the submission guidelines before submitting your work to: guillemets@uvic.ca. 

Journal Details 

Priority will be given to works written in French. English submissions will also be considered, as long as the topic pertains to francophone studies.

Undergraduate students from any department can contribute.

Guillemets is published annually each spring. The first issue will appear in 2020. 

The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2020. 

Five to six academic works will be selected using a double-blind peer-review process. 

Creative works will be selected using a double-blind peer-review process; they will be accepted on a case by case basis. 

The journal will be available online and in print.

Open Access Policy 

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
