About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Canadian Zooarchaeology welcomes submissions of interest to our readers. We publish peer-reviewed research articles and reports on ongoing research of interest to those studying vertebrate or invertebrate faunal assemblages. In addition, we regularly present news, letters, conference reports and book reviews. Submissions are published in English or French, as received.

Canadian Zooarchaeology has ceased publication and the issues have been archived.

Peer Review Process

Articles are subject to peer review. Research reports and other items may be published without peer review.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication, with the work after publication simultaneously licensed under a CC BY Creative Commons International License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2.
