Uplands Park: Invasive Plant Management Plan 2018-2025

  • Wiley Thomas University of Victoria

Abstract

This document outlines an eight-year plan (2018 - 2025) to remove all remaining mature invasive trees from Uplands Park and identifies zones of high conservation value which provide the focus for complete control of all priority invasive plants and shrubs by 2025. To develop the plan, I re-surveyed the entire park to estimate the resource requirements for controlling woody invasive shrubs and trees based on lessons learned and expanded the original list of targeted invasives to include Orchard Grass, Velvet Grass and other herbaceous species that threaten the park's rare plants.
